interesting Start
I’m basing this review of just finishing off the first episode.be warned to either watch with headphones or make sure your alone when you watch it!!
After all the sex scenes I think it has a very interesting understory.
I know sex plays a huge part in some of the pairs stories but for me the scenes felt a tad too over done.
I’m thinking I may wait till it’s complete to come
back and binge watch it all in one go!

Soft Porn Trainwreck
Much like a train wreck I couldn’t look away. But before the explosion I decided to look away because I cannot unsee what I had seen already. I don’t need to see the end to know the death of this series.I read somewhere that some of the actors are Only Fans broadcasters. I am not sure if this is true but it would make sense for the NC scenes and the zero acting ability.
For Nant, I don’t understand this character at all. Other than he was a plot device. There is no character development. I didn’t even see him in the first scene and had to rewind when his twin Non’t showed up.
How can the friends not know Non’t is not Nant? But then again all the friends are super fvcked up people.
How can Prom just hook up with Non’t after he knows it’s not Nant? It’s weird. Prom was supposedly in love with Nant. He even helped him fake his suicide to help him escape loan sharks. I thought Prom was Playboyy’s owner but it’s the pedophiler Daddy JasonLee.
Zouey and Teena are an odd couple. Teena comes across as the Only Fans broadcaster because dude just stands around looking like a prop except when he has to perform sex acts.
Yuck to First. Seriously the insertion of objects into the butt. The fisting. And biting someone’s d!ck. Soong and Pune most really need the money thst bad to put up with it. Good for Soong leaving but to upend ups it’s another psycho like Daddy Jason Lee.
Captain can rot in hell. Good that Keen found out about him and made him think he’s still with Puen. I want him to suffer in heartbreak. Shit I want someone to pistol whip some sense into him.
Porsche doesn’t deserve Jump. I am glad Jump has journalist side piece. I want them together and Porsche can deal with Daddy Jason Lee on his own.
Maybe Phop and Nuth belong together. They are both orange flag with one going green and the other red. That’s how they are coming off.
At this point I don’t care who kill Nant. Most likely Daddy JasonLee. Or will I wast any more time watching the last episode.
Even scrubbing through at 2x isn’t helping to save this self inflicted torture

Keep the remote close
The movie was very intriguing. I didn't know what to expect except for some NC scenes as showcased in the trailer, but it turned out to have a story, and a plot, and it portrayed how some of the characters struggled with mental illness, as well as the message of not judging a book by its cover. I'm excited for the release of episode 2 and the rest of the series. Although it was not boring for me, I had to have the remote next to me due to the sound effects of the NC scenes. All in all, I give it a 7, maybe because I had no prior expectations and the cast and acting were good enough for you to get the emotions and deceit. Was this review helpful to you?

Feels faked. Like writer&director looked up kinks on Wikipedia & actors are poorly playing pretend.
Dropped after Ep7. I can't force myself to keep watching, not even for the sake of keeping my review current. General spoilers only. Not mentally or emotionally engaging or satisfying as either porn-with-plot OR porn-without-plot. It's mostly quick cuts to and away from 10-60 sec vignettes of "action" with not much to string them together. Akin to scrolling through porn search results; it's mini previews of scenes I might be interested in watching more of without actually getting to see them. Many of the snippets are at the point of highest shock value and then they are over or the story jumps away. There's rarely any build of anticipation or sexual tension and the BDSM scenes get more campy as the series goes on, especially when gear is involved.
The story also has a tendency to cut away right after the pinnacle of non-sexual, emotional confrontations, which comes across as lazy writing not putting in the effort to comple scenes. It's also frusterating because it keeps the audience at a distance from character's experiences leaving huge gaps between scenes/events, which makes it hard to connect with and invest in the characters emotionally.
I was looking forward to a grittier BL story with intrigue that explored sex and kinks more freely but this is so far disappointing. The characters are written 2-dimensionally (simple & shallow) and acted flatly, and the sex/kinks often feel forced/fake. Like the series is trying to sell a showy shell of a vaneer without a fundamental understanding of the dynamics that would drive the more extreme types of desires and scenes in real life. Like BOTH the writer and director looked up kinks on Wikipedia and the actors are poorly playing dress-up; interactions are poorly faked simulations that no one seems to enjoy convincingly.
I can't believe it's the Only Friends screenwriter (which had it's weaknesses but was overall enjoyably chaotic while the characters were understandable and many were easy to empathize with and root for). The quality of storytelling in this is so disjointed and weak. There are too many characters that don't get introduced or followed properly and the mess of thin plotlines are shallow and often confusing.
I continued to watch in the hopes that it would get better, since I thought the screenwriter was capable of it. Ep 4 actually made me laugh out loud twice at how bad it was with poor and overly dramatic writing, acting, and music.
Ep 7/14 update: This episode showed a couple improvements after the holiday hiatus but it had a different feel to it, which I think would be even more noticeable if someone was binge-watching. It was weird how 'in love' many of the characters became suddenly.
There was still confusion about what exactly was going on in some scenes, the way multiple relationships are progressing don't quite make sense, multiple character choices are illogical, and Zouey still feels like a different character than how he was presented at the start of the series. He seems to have somehow moved past the physical/sexual/psychological eccentricities that originally made him so different and interesting.
What I thought was improved: Power dynamics were the focus in the various types of relationships. The themes of the episode and their execution were more clear. There was a better rhythm to scenes because the editing didn't interrupt and bounce back and forth in the middle of scenes as much. The editing between scenes was less choppy, the interactions between characters were more focused, and the music was well suited to each scene. This allowed some tension to build over the course of the episode leading to a more intense cliffhanger.
I watched the Uncut version on GagaOOlala in the USA.
General Spoilers for Ep 1-3 below.
There's some tension/anticipation built with Zouey and Teena but then Ep3 breaks it. Zouey uncharacteristically feels "in the mood" (to go all the way no less) and they start a slow exploration then SNAP, the camera briefly switches to the middle of a sex scene with a different pair! and SNAP, we're back to Zouey and Teena and they are about to try 'the main event'. And it quickly doesn't go well.
Wait. First, you deliberately don't show us the interesting part of seducing a body with pleasure (especially Zouey because we're not even clear in what way he does/doesn't experience pleasure or arousal) then second, tell us a sex worker doesn't know how to adequately prepare someone for bottoming?!?!? Really?
How in the world did they even get that far- what was Zouey's reaction to anything leading up to that point? That's what made that scene/relationship interesting and they didn't bother to write it in. *Facepalm. And where was the Japanese overvoice that was present before? (And why weren't subtitles included for that by the way?) It feels like Zouey and Teena were written out of character just so their plotline dilemma could line up with one of Zouey's friends for this episode.
I somewhat appreciated that safe words were a topic in Ep 3, but it was very rudimentary in its explanations and kind of put blame on Zouey for not remembering to use a safe word instead of "wait/no" for his first time. The discussion by the group of friends compells me to add:
FYI you can incorporate "What's your color?" or "Say your color" to check in with your partner using the traffic light system (green = go, yellow = slow down or reduce, red = stop). Prompting a response in this way is especially helpful when trying something new or with those that have a hard time thinking and/or verbalizing while exploring (like those in subspace).

it's definitely different...
Overall: unfortunately there are just too many characters that I care nothing about. My advice is to skip the first two episodes and start watching at episode 3. 14 episodes about 1 hour each. Airing on GagaOOLala. The production company Copy A Bangkok has also produced: War of Y, Y Destiny, YYY and Make It RightContent Warnings: manipulation, mention of past death, kidnapping, coercion, blackmail, slap, kink shaming, homophobia, drug addiction, non con video recording
What I Liked
- a person can definitely be horny as a virgin and a person can be more comfortable giving pleasure rather than receiving it
- saying that wanting it rough was fine (though I didn't see any rough play until later...)
- a mystery
- appreciate that they tried something different from what we normally see (i.e. fluffy romcoms)
- that sports guy was upset about non con recording/sharing
- at least safe words have been mentioned and after care has been shown
- realistic friendship between the rich/not rich guys
Room For Improvement
- the two false statements right at the beginning annoyed me
1. not everyone enjoys sex and that is totally okay
2. research does not prove that people think about sex 388 times a day https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20140617-how-often-do-men-think-about-sex (the average for a college-aged man was 19 times a day which was less than thinking about food and sleep) and that study suffered from the "white bear problem" ie telling someone not to think about something makes them want to think about it
- negative and stereotypical portrayal of sex workers
- the NSFW scenes are just tossed in and definitely feel they are there for a shock factor rather than an integral part of the story
- I can't believe I'm saying this but the NSFW could also take some lessons from Venus In The Sky with not always showing visible underwear, and overall the scenes didn't make me feel anything at all, perhaps because I hadn't connected with the characters yet which leads into...
- there are a bunch of characters and I didn't get a good sense of who they were/didn't connect with them
- there is some nonsense stuff that veers into camp and I think it was intentional but it wasn't enough so just feels awkward
- the Japanese voice overs (think ended after ep 2) and randomly speaking in English (also mostly ended after the first 2 episodes)
- exposition dump in episode 2
- super disappointed about talking about a safe word but then forgetting it
- cliche poor communication and not clearing it up right away

I don't know what to say.........
Well I started to watch this because I felt like that this gonna be a lit but I don't know why it feels so fke to me. Moreover like the director is only cared about the smut parts but nothing elese. There is no story other than hooking up with everyone.About the actors sometimes it really doesn't feel like they are acting moreover like they are telling what's in the script. I'm not insulting or anything I just don't feel right about this cause I thought that this onna be more interesting than this right now.

Wtf..??
So, this review is probably gonna be kinda off since I only watched one episode. I don't remember the plot I only remember and know that pretty much 95% of the episode was pure sex and I was embarrassed for the characters. I really love how the actors were able to do that scenes without laughing their ass off. Of the plot I guess someone disappeared and they were supposed to figure out where he was. However the series is only there for the sex. That's not how you catch proper public, unless u wanna catch the girls fetishizing gay men. So yeah as a gay man I really hate this, I could watch better porn on other sites if I wanted to.Was this review helpful to you?
watch with a open mind
I think it's good but it's clearly not for everyone. If you can get past all the sex and there is a lot of it
there are story plots in there for each character.
Yeah sure you might have to watch episodes twice because your smacked in
the face with sex right off the bat but now into the second episode
I can see the stories starting to develop for everyone.
There are a couple of characters that the stories haven't come into
play really but again it is just the second episode.
As for the rewatch value well for me it all depends on how the story
ends but 5 eps in I'm going to give it a 8.

I'm confused by other People's Reviews?!
I'm not sure if we all watched the same Show?I agree that their sound design is off, especially in the first two episodes but I'm confused why so many people apparently think there is no plot?
There is so much going on in this Show!
Also, Sex CAN BE PLOT! Figuring out what you like or don't like, how your and your partners preferences work or not work together? That's PLOT!
Let's not forget the big picture. All the talk about Sex Work and the literal missing twin that might have been killed or trafficked?!
More for Fans of QaF than of "BL" in my Opinion because a lot of the BL Fans seems to not be able to watch anything that doesn't include a beauty filter...
Also... Showing Queer Sex on TV is not Porn... I think some people need to think hard about why explicit hetero sex in shows is totally play but queer sex automatically makes a show "porn"

Music
Are people.shiting on the music because of the effects or the soundtrack itself. I said this in another comment but like for me as a Film student/film maker yes, I will agree the effects are garbage especially during the scene when Jason Lee shoots the man that sound, I was like "Stagecoach 1939 movie did a better ass job and that wasn't even a BL) LOL. But the soundtrack is actually pretty nice. I will say this film has a lot of continuity issue like in the scene when Zouey is playing the violin and then in the next shot it vanished. I know a lot of people might not catch the detail but lord...the times I had to pause to talk about what happened (LIFE of a Film student)Was this review helpful to you?

Poor production choices let down what could have been a gripping gritty mystery
I tried really hard to carry on watching this show. Some of the sex scenes were alright, the ones I didn't care for I just skipped or paid half attention to. A couple were great. You can tell the actors are trying their best for the most part - the director and everything else are failing them substantially.
The biggest issue I have is that the main plot line of the disappearance of Nant isnt very well written. When the investigations happen they either go nowhere (like the party?), or happen suddenly with all the motivation or reasoning for the characters chosing to follow that route of investigation completely skipped over.
I enjoy a mystery show and am left sorely disappointed by the ham handedness of the writing and production choices.
Another gripe I have and the reason the sex scenes are pretty skippable is that I don't think most of the characters actually enjoy them? It seems like the kinks were written by people with a distaste for them, who want to portray them as inherently 'wrong'.
I understand that they're trying to showcase some of the realities of sex work especially somewhere where it's criminalised, but it doesn't need up to 14 hours of sexual violence to showcase it. At that point it just feels like the reason some self-gratification being sought by the production team.
Maybe it's changed in the subsequent episodes since I dropped it but this would have been better as a 3 hour movie with way fewer couples. I'm going to continue reading spoilers for the show so I can find out what happened to Nant in the end but I'm not wasting another 7 hours of my life when I know most of it will be filler.
