Raging comedic banter and battle. I highly recommend!
Update on ep 8: This drama has been consistently entertaining. Each episode is meaningful with steady pacing. Interesting twists here and there. The romance stays at low stake, but they're heart-fluttering.^0^ and the intro and the epilogue of each episode, is one of the best funny moments XD I lose count how many times I'm laughing! XD XD XDCho Yeo Hwa (Lee Ha Ne), lives by day as a dutiful widow, but by night she's running across rooftops fighting criminals for the poor secretly. One night, she got into a chaotic fight with gamblers and landed in the arms of a palace guard, Park Soo Ho (Lee Jong-won). This short-lived meeting gets him connected with her and he keeps running into her, wanting to know who she really is. As she continues living this Robin Hood lifestyle, will she be able to keep her disguise?
I immediately connected with our lead character, I love Yeo Hwa, I love her mother-in-law and her quirky friend, too. The fact is she's widowed, controlled by her mother-in-law and almost 100% locked inside her house, and also she has a tragic past, but the storytelling is so so funny. The leads are funny, their friends are funny, their conversations are funny. The comedy level within the little gesture, sound effect, the visual effect blows my mind and I'm laughing, slapping myself while watching and rewinding these funny scenes!
The fight scenes are choreographed very well. I like the wuxia-style touch to it; flying to the roof, hitting people by acorns, like that... even these fight scenes made me laugh again unexpectedly. If you know, you know. ^^
Besides that, I like how our male lead is being introspective about his role as a palace guard to serve justice to people but him and his fellows are doing it by the book, while this mysterious lady is doing what he's supposed to be doing each night.

A hidden gem : Robin Hood with a Twist
I went into this drama with no expectations, however, I quickly realized why it is so famous in Korea: These dramas incorporate comedy and mystery, however the most impactful of them all was romance, which wasn't even enlisted as a main genre. The drama is so good, with each episode it just keeps getting better and better:
- Plot: I felt like the female lead would be shadowed by the male lead, however, this drama proved me wrong!
The female lead is a total badass, helping people like Robin Hood. Matter of fact, the twists and turns that it has will keep you watching! Also, omg the chemistry between the leads was AMAZING! Why is it always the non-romance drama that makes such a strong impression?! I'm shocked this is not listed as romance as that's how good it was.
The drama was also very educational as it brought light to the heartbreaking ways that women were treated throughout history, especially widows. And I liked that despite those harsh conditions, the female leads were still able to become strong and fight to make the world a better place.
- Actings: I do not know who these actors were, but honestly, these dramas make me fall in love with all of them (especially the female lead and male leads).
Both leads did a good job of portraying their characters and were not overshadowed by one another. The age gap did not bother me at all. Also, the way they were looking at each other with their eyes?! Got me feeling butterflies and they hadn't even kissed.
The other actors also did a great job at portraying the characters, and I was not expecting the villain to be who he was?! The way the mother-in-law treated her made me so mad!
The pacing, chemistry, the plot keep you at your edge, and with each episode, the drama keeps getting better and better. Truly a hidden gem that deserves a lot more recognition. So honestly, go ahead and give it a watch!!

Tantalizing Encounters at Knight (Lol)
For Yeo Hwa (Honey Lee) life is extremely narrow. She is locked away from the outside world, her beauty covered in voluminous white fabric and her every movement spied on and scrutinized every day...which makes it all the more shocking to see how she gets around at night! She has more of a nightlife than any avid bar hopper on vaca in Paris. Her life took a dreadful turn when she married into the Left State Minister's household. They are among the wealthiest and most powerful families in Joseon. Her father-in-law has deadly secrets and a consuming lust for power. Her mother-in-law is a cold woman..enamored with her own reputation. They plan to use Yeo Hwa and her widow's piety to gain them prestigious rewards, thus they are determined to control her every thought.
But Yeo Hwa cannot be controlled. She appears as innocent and obedient as she is commanded to be...yet juxtaposed against that pale version of herself is a woman so vibrantly alive, it is impossible for her to go unnoticed.
She is fearless and capable, her keen brain focused on staying just a step ahead of her jailor's.
Thankfully, she has found an outlet for her pent up life, and she expresses it by saving others. And because she doesn't live in the main house...she is allowed a few precious hours to be herself. Without thought for her own safety or exposure, she throws off her white robe to don a black one and leaps over the wall for her latest nocturnal rescue.
What I Love:
The FL. Honey Lee.... as Yeo Hwa
She is not just a pretty face, she is also a very gifted actress. Her height and strength only add to the authenticity of her role in this series. She is a feisty heroine and a very entertaining one. Her funny bone must be natural because it makes its way into her roles often. It is a welcome relief here as mourning is a deadly serious business to this family. Ppl have complained about her age...but she owns this role perfectly in my view. I love this trend of strong and capable female leads.
The ML. Lee Jong Won....as Park Soo Ho
Naturally for our mistreated and precious FL, there must be a gorgeous ML, right? And oh my...Lee Jong Won is perfect. If this is your first time watching him as it is mine...I predict you are gonna love this guy. I am also loving his role. As Park Zoo Ho, he is this very calm masculine man, capable of handling his enemies without breaking a sweat. He is unflappable... until he meets her. And despite her being covered from head to toe... she makes a shocking impression on him anyway. He is so drawn to her...that he feels compelled to save her from herself. Maddeningly aware of the risks she takes, he nearly unravels trying to protect her, in fact, his arms often end up around her ...just to help her of course. Lol.
So a very fascinating start to a tantalizing series, one I wholeheartedly recommend.
As always I will be back to update you.
Happy Watching!

A Later Bloomer, but a Sure Winner
The StoryIn this Historical RomCom Mystery, a mature widow, with great martial arts skills, rights injustices by night. Fascinating, she is, to a young Officer of the Courts who is tasked with discovering night criminals. Is this a perfect match under the moonlight?
In Knight Flower, this widow lives with her mother-in-law and is not suppose to leave the compound. She sneaks out at night like an assassin to aid those in need. The widow has a very interesting back story. Widows are kept inside so that they don’t sin with their eyes and heart during the mourning period. However, her quest is to serve the poor. The people find this widow graceful, classy, and of great beauty. The young officer finds her clumsy and cumbersome, but wildly alluring and seeks to protect her. Knight Flower is a play on words with Night Flower.
‘Knight Flower’ did not pass my 15 minute “Love It or Leave It” test, however, I saw enough raw material present to foresee that this might be a winner. Sometimes you have to step outside of your comfort zone. Knight Flower did take off by the end of episode one. My hunch was proved right big time. The main couple is a May/December pairing. There is great chemistry between the two leads. There seems to be another May/December pairing in this drama too, involving an older man and younger women. The OSTs in Korean Dramas in general have been great lately, in the new Korean Dramas this year of 2024. K-pop now has its full presence in K-drama. The OST of Knight Flower has a few really great songs. The songs are so good, many will sit-down dance when hearing them.
Quotes from the Drama Knight Flower
What one holds in her heart is her will, and what one speaks is her words, so what one can do is to be careful of that.” Knight Flower (What on says and what one does may differ. It depends on the heart condition)
Knight Glowers—They are Rainbow pink flower, huh? Their stems are like bamboo, and they bloom on rocks, huh? From Korean Drama ‘The Knight Flower’.
A fierce tiger can become a rat. [Or A King who loses authority is overwhelmed by his subjects]. Knight Flower
Actors Corner
Lee Ha Nee (Honey)—Former Miss South Korea turned actress, Lee Ha Nee really showed up in Knight Flower. Her acting in Knight Flower is blowing me away. She has just the right touch of comedy and seriousness for this part. Lee Ha Nee has four dramas dropping this year of 2024, The Fiery Priest 2, Aema, Knight Flower, and one already score big even before its American release is Klaus 47 (Based on a true story). She is 5’8” tall.
Lee Jong-Won—Actor/Model at 6’0” tall, Lee Jong-Won is portraying his character with such endearment. You easily give into the notion that he is captivated by this older woman. Lee Jong-Won previously gave an award winning performance in The Golden Spoon and also can be seen in Hospital Playlist 2.

Amazing!
This drama is seriously underrated! I'm loving it so far. The characters are well-developed and have depth. I enjoy all the characters, except the villains. The balance between humor and darker moments is perfect. The female lead is fantastic and really funny. I appreciate how she's portrayed as stronger than the male lead, without making him seem weak. And finally!!! FINALLY they're doing a great job making the female lead look like a man, especially when she entered the inn! It was a pleasant surprise. Each episode ends on an exciting note, making me eager for the next one. I'm already hyped for episode 9. The plot twists are mind-blowing! This show is definitely a hidden gem.
My only complaint is that I wish the drama was longer. I'm worried that the next few episodes might feel rushed because there's still so much to cover.

Why isn't this trending yet?!
Ok im the first to make a review for this series and i love this show so much 😭 i have been waiting for this to air and was planning to watch it only after all episodes aired. But joke's on me! I can't take it anymore so i binge-watch all available episodesI love how this series is full of action/ fighting scenes and romantic comedy scenes. So far i havent seen commonly used tropes and it's a good thing! I love Lee ha nee's role here (FL). It perfectly fits her! And definitely love our cinnamon boi Lee Jong won (ML)
I love how the story slowly put the pieces together. By episode 6 you probably would have guessed already what happened in the past. But this definitely won't make you lose interest on the show .
I will suffer for now as i wait for the remaining episodes
Watch it now too so you suffer with me lol

Very good comedy
FL and ML very good acting. FL's comedy is at the highest level, her gestures and facial expressions are great. The film is very well paced. there's always something going on. The action takes place on many levels. Very good action. the hour passes very quickly. Great contemporary music. When you watch it, it seems that you are in the ancient and modern world. and to think that until 1894 aristocratic widows could not remarry. It's a film about women crossing boundaries - it was like that in the past and it's still like that today. Was this review helpful to you?

An Impresive Start to a Hilarious Romcom
If you enjoyed watching the recently concluded romcom “The Matchmakers”, then probably “Knight Flower” should be on your watchlist. The premise is quite similar, a widowed daughter-in-law belonging to an influential family who lives a double life. While Jung Soon Deok (Cho Yi Hyun) portrayed a masterful matchmaker, Lee Ha Nee plays Cho Yeo Hwa, a gutsy yet happy-go-lucky widow who masquerades as the “legendary hero” at night. I jumped into this drama because Lee Ha Nee is one of my favorite actresses and her comic timing is unbeatable. If you have watched her in “The Fiery Priest”, then you would understand my point. She doesn’t disappoint here either; Yeo Hwa is a joy to watch, it could be the fight scenes where she punishes the baddies or her subtle romantic scenes with ML, Lee Jong Won. Well I did have reservations about this pairing, the eleven age-gap is pretty obvious; I’m not even sure if this is a noona romance. Nevertheless, both have a striking chemistry, and we are going to talk more about this!Read the complete article here-

Slow start and a bit confusing plot but entertaining enough
I've been in a slump the last few months, searching for decent dramas.I have watched 7 episodes so far and I think it is an acceptable drama. I do like the way they transition from memories in black and white. The editing is cool.
I do agree with another reviewer that the plot itself is a bit...weird. You're telling me our badass female lead can't escape her situation, or find her brother for 15 years? Kdrama has this tendency to make things "extra" sad. At the same time, all the leads are connected to this incident from 15 years ago where the previous king was murdered.
I also don't get why we find out her husband is just randomly alive after living as a merchant for 15 years.
Female lead is 11 years older than the male lead, but she is such a "celebrated" actor that it doesn't appear to matter that much. Also ahjumma Kim mi kyung is here again! she's everywhere!lol
Her servant girl and male lead's adoptive older brother are cute to watch on screen.
The age difference feels wholesome/not too noticeable.
I hope the drama will have a good ending and maybe a kiss scene?
So far i'm giving it a 7.5, because i don't think it's quite at the point to be an 8 but it's not below a 7 either.

It takes more than Martial Arts to be a Night Courier !
We like a show when it matches with our mindset , ideology and beliefs….!!!!When I imagined myself in place of FL
The contradictory point in this show was that if she was really that smart and daring and open-minded , what was she doing for the past 15 years.
Anyhow,,,, should should’ve found a way to get out of that worthless life.
Maybe because I’ve seen better shows.
But I could not really convince myself that a person who has such great potential to be living a life like that.
I hoped for better !!

Different tale
Unlike other Goreyo story or Joseon drama, this story does not revolve around royal families. The opening episode starts with a boom where the lady crosses the wall and does somersault to reach home before her mother in law sneaks in. It gives a fresh vibes. Unlike other period pieces, this story does not rely on lives of royals even but solely revolves around two commoners in search of their own identity. Despite living an unfateful life, Yeo Hwa is a positive person. She has her motto and does not rely on others for her life, Soo Hoo has been digging around to bring a twist in his career graph. He bumps into Yeo Hwa every time he looks out for a crime scene and her sneaky life piques his interest. But unaware of her real identity, he is being drawn to a widow who is waiting for her brother to come and take her.
As the story progresses, Yeo Hwa finds herself engrossed in affairs that has been shaking the nation. Her fierce moves which have been meant to help people needs to use it for a bigger cause that can turn the nation upside down.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, the drama is unfolding the definition of love in a time where the emotion has been limited and not allowed. But does love really follow time and management?
