Fukagawa Seiji is a high school student with silver color hair. He is free-spirited and fond of painting. He tells people exactly what he thinks, but he also has a mysterious side. His classmate is Niwa Akane. Akane is a model student who always wears a face mask. At first, she doesn’t like Seiji, but she is attracted by Seiji's paintings and his blunt personality. They get close with each other, and they both have their own secret they can’t tell anyone. Simple and cute love story with an unexpected twist
It started off as him saying he hates her. At first i thought it was weird for him to say that without any context maybe because it was just the start. After that, it was easy for me to understand the story. Its nit your typical cutesy fluff love story but it was angst with a hint of cuteness. I like how it can be relatable at some point. The overall message that this movie was trying to tell was clear.
No matter how hard it is, you have a decision over your own life. It was really cute how she changed his world and he changed hers. I really enjoyed it and thats why i gave it a high rating. Maybe to some, this is too much or a slow burn or not your kind of movie to enjoy but this is an excellent movie.

A simple story that moves nicely through its leads’ interactions.
Was not expecting much (apart from the Ruki-biased lens I was wearing for the trailers) but this turned out to be one of the best coming of age romances I’ve seen in a while. The film is pretty dialogue-heavy. Though majority of Akane-Seiji’s relationship happened through conversations, it still felt like it grew naturally and they “showed more than they told”. The film’s cinematography and scoring lent a lot to that achievement.
I loved the subtle changes made to the source material. The additional subtexts allowed them to weave certain elements more seamlessly.
(E.g., color grading and key scenes mirroring Seiji’s art preferences; “Plot-twist” ties closely to Akane’s arc.)
Overall, it’s the type of film that will probably make you feel differently every time, as you discover something new each watch.
