This is a love story between 23 year old grad student Asahina Motoko and her 64 year old professor Sakaki Ikuo. Motoko is a very mature and serious girl with poor social skills and is often called dark and gloomy by her classmates. However she finds Professor Sakaki to be kind and easy to talk to, despite his reputation as a strict and scary teacher. Although Professor Sakaki tells Motoko that her feelings for him are not love, something is developing between the two of them, and it might change them both into better people. Reviews
“Your life doesn’t need to be evaluated by other people and you don’t need to fit in”
The topic and age gap make this definitely controversial. However, if you’re more open minded and are looking for something different, I’d definitely recommend it. There are several elements I liked:- It reminds you to not judge others by their appearance, and that it’s ok being the way you are too.
- It shows that when you love someone, sometimes that means letting them be happy without you, and that you should also value yourself.
- It’s full of beautiful and wise dialogues, I found a lot of them to be very meaningful and accurate.
The relationship between the leads is very pure, their romance is intellectual more than anything, and I think they’re good for each other. I wish they hadn’t made this a bit stereotypical with the “I grew up without a father and now I’m attracted to an older man” thing, maybe a beautiful friendship between the leads would’ve been better; but it’s still a nice story, so give it a watch if you’re curious and into unusual stories.

Interesting topic but the potential was wasted. I loved the old guy and Asahina is so beautiful. BUT the acting in this drama felt... fake...? The emotions felt exaggerated or were conveyed with expressionless faces. Also, the writing was boring. Even four episodes felt too much for this kind of dull writing. I just feel the story could've been more realistic and a little bit more daring. I was hoping to see a bigger development in their relationship but the drama focused only on them getting together. I feel like there was a lot more that could've been explored, specially because of the guy's sickness and old age. I wanted to see her move in with him and spend the rest of his days with him. I wanted to see their love til the end and see the person she becomes after everything ends, you know, the impact that it has on her. Was this review helpful to you?
