A comparison of Wu Lei's feelings about his Ling Buyi/Huo Wushang character in Love Like The Galaxy and Lin Yiyang in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (12'38 minutes interviews compilation) : 

Wu Lei about Ling Buyi : "I choose my own roles", "I like complex characters".  "Actors and roles are destined to meet." Ling Buyi was a "domineering" and "insidious man" who did try "to make a change" for the better. Director Fei Zhen Xiang complimenting on the "acting real" in the horse riding scared to tears incident. (from another video)  After his partner regained her wits, finally convinced that Wu Lei was in control all the time,  laughing at the take, she went back riding with Wu Lei, hugging his arm for comfort.

Lin Yiyang is an "arrogant",  "crazy person", he is "quite naughty" but he is "strong" and has learned to "restrain himself" Huang Tian Ren  黄天仁 director, thought that Lin Yiyang is very similar to Wu Lei in personality Yu Bo  俞波 co-director, acknowledged the high requirements Wu Lei has for himself. Zhang Kai, billiards national team coach, said Wu Lei's momentum, posture and expressions are very close to those of a professional.
